Michael Biberstein was born in Solothurn, Switzerland in 1948. He lived there until 1964 when he moved to the United States.
There he finished his formal education, including an important year with David Sylvester at Swarthmore College. He studied art
history. As a painter he is self-taught. He lives and worksin Portugal since 1978.
